Frequently asked questions

Everything people most often want to know about ReoMac — in one place.

Which cameras does ReoMac support?

Reolink cameras that use the Baichuan protocol (port 9000 / P2P by UID) — including battery models without RTSP/ONVIF, such as the Reolink Altas PT Ultra. The list of tested models will keep growing.

Do my recordings go to the cloud?

No. ReoMac connects to the camera directly and saves recordings and snapshots only locally on your Mac. The app has no servers of its own and requires no account.

Will continuous viewing drain a battery camera?

A constant stream can drain a battery camera within days — that's why ReoMac only streams while the preview is actually open, and reads the battery level with one-off queries.

Can I play back recordings from the camera's SD card?

Not yet — the SD-card playback protocol is currently unavailable. Instead, ReoMac offers local recording to your Mac's disk; a motion-event archive is on the roadmap.

Can I trim and export recordings?

This feature is in the works: browsing recordings on a timeline, quickly cutting out a selected fragment and exporting a ready-made clip. It will arrive in one of the next updates.

How does iCloud settings sync work?

Camera configuration and app preferences will sync through your private iCloud across Macs signed in to the same Apple account. Only settings are synced — footage, recordings and snapshots never leave your computer. The feature is in development.

What is the viewing latency?

Typically 2–4 seconds (HLS chain without video transcoding). We're working on a lower-latency mode.

How much does ReoMac cost and how do I buy it?

The first 14 days are free. After that: $1.99 per month, $13.99 per year, or $39.99 one-time (Lifetime license, no renewals). Purchase directly in the app — payment is handled by the App Store, and you can cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.

Which languages does the app support?

Seven: Polish, English (US and UK), German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The interface automatically matches your system language.

When will the app be in the App Store?

ReoMac is in the final stages of preparation for release. Check back soon — once it launches, the "App Store" buttons on this site will go live.
